The emotional DNB uses the same game logic as the dual n-back. Instead of disk locations and letters, you must keep track of face locations (ignoring the faces themselves) and word colors (ignoring the word meanings).
Examples of 1-back and 2-back matches are shown in the upper and lower panels here for the default response settings.
Your objective is to increase your n-back level, as in the other DNB games.
The emotional DNB game has been shown to be particularly effective in improving emotion-related self-control and reducing emotional reactivity.
